Love the aesthetic of the restaurant! Friendly service, booking was made through Instagram DM though response was prompt and friendly so not a problem. Sweet and spicy chicken, galbitang and pajeon were lovely. Personally also enjoyed the gochu mayo chicken a lot but some found the wasabi a bit too intense so perhaps a more adventurous choice for some. Kimchi jeon was decent but have had better. Having said that I would love to visit again to try out other dishes!

We got the kimchi jjim, half-half fried chicken (original // sweet & spicy) and the creamed cheese corn. The chicken went really good with the creamed corn and was super soft and juicy inside + crunchy. Really good!!! The kimchi jjim was also really good. The stew itself was a little thicker than I expected but it went really good with the rice actually, and had a really nice variety of pork belly, kimchi,. and ribs. The ribs were a little surprising to have but also really soft and tender. To be honest, with the amount of food that we ordered, it definitely could've been a 3 person meal. We ended up taking away the remainders of everything to use for another meal tomorrow. Overall, I would just recommend in general as the food was really high quality. It was also very quiet inside the restaurant, and the decor was super cute. :3

Their bulgogi is tender with that perfect soy-sweet glaze, while the jeyuk bokkeum (spicy pork stir-fry) delivers the right kick of gochujang heat. perfect for cosy dinners on chilly London nights ????????

DOPI 도피소, nestled in the heart of London’s vibrant Bethnal Green, is a Korean restaurant that excels in blending authentic flavors with a cozy, vintage atmosphere. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a warm, 1970s-inspired decor that perfectly complements the rich, comforting dishes on offer. This is a space where tradition meets modernity, both in design and culinary craftsmanship.

The centerpiece of DOPI’s menu is undoubtedly its Korean Fried Chicken. Whether you opt for the classic half-half fried chicken with original and sweet & spicy sauces or the adventurous gochu mayo chicken, each bite delivers a satisfying crunch followed by tender, juicy meat. Paired beautifully with the creamed cheese corn, the chicken elevates the dining experience into something special—crispy yet moist, sweet yet savory.

The kimchi jjim is another highlight, featuring a robust, flavorful stew thicker than traditional versions, but perfectly balanced with an enticing mix of pork belly, kimchi, and tender ribs. This dish showcases the restaurant’s ability to harmonize textures and flavors, making it ideal for sharing over rice. Meanwhile, staples like jeyuk bokkeum bring the heat with their well-measured gochujang spice, and bulgogi charms with its tender, soy-glazed sweetness.

DOPI’s offerings aren’t limited to just fiery, hearty dishes. Delicate plates such as the caramelised grapefruit and pineapple sorbet add refreshing touches, rounding out the meal with subtle sweetness and acidity. The attention to detail extends beyond the food; the efficient table terminal ordering system and prompt, friendly service create a seamless dining experience.
